Cats Cottage:
We pride ourselves on having one of the best catteries in Wellington.
As well as the convenience and safety having a vet centre attached to the cattery, we are centrally located and are one of the few city catteries that allow cats outside into a fully secure garden.
Our custom built CAT PARADISE will make your beloved cats holiday a "HOME AWAY FROM HOME"
- Onsite Veterinary Supervision
- Own apartment and private bathroom
- Upstairs/Downstairs available for same-household cats on request.
- Lounging platforms – complete with catnip toys, rafters for climbing and scratching poles.
- Exercise taken in the plant filled garden
- REAL trees to climb - OUTSIDE yet SAFE
- Hills Science diet premium cat food fed. Maintenance, Kitten and senior foods provided free of charge. Other brands and prescription foods to be supplied, or can be purchased from the vet centre on entry to the cattery.
We have a few rules to protect your Cat
VACCINATIONS
- Must be current (within the last 12 months)
- If greater than 18 months, your cat will need an initial vaccination followed by a booster vaccination three to four weeks later. Your cat is able to enter the cattery two weeks after the booster vaccination.
FLEA & WORM TREATMENTS
- We treat your cat for fleas and worms on arrival. This service is provided at minimal cost. (You are welcome to flea treat and worm your own cats prior to boarding, but please note that only FrontlinePlus, Revolution or the Advantage range are acceptable flea treatments. All Flea/Worm treatments must be up to date)
- We complete a complementary dental and weight check on each cat.
- Each cat goes home with a Cat’s Cottage report and written assessment on the dental and weight check for your records. We also include guidelines on dental care and attention.
VISITING & DELIVERY
- Our Pick up and Drop off times are flexible, however 8am-11am and 4pm-6pm on weekdays is best. On weekends we are open 9:30am-12noon on Saturdays only.
- Feel free to visit your cat or inspect our premises between these times, but please ring first so we can arrange a staff member to show you around.
- Alternative appointments can be arranged if necessary.
EXTRA INFORMATION
- Bringing in special beds and toys may make your cat feel more ‘at home’, however we do also provide excellent fluffy ‘vet beds’.
- Book early for holidays e.g. Christmas and Easter as we are often booked over a year in advance! Over these time we also offer a home feeding service (see below)
- Please let us know in plenty of time of you no longer require your booking – there are plenty of people who would thank you for the opportunity to get their cat in!
- As we are also a Vet Centre – should any problems arise, help is close at hand!
- Special diets can be catered for. Please bring in your cats special diet (or prescription diets can be purchased on arrival and taken home with you)
- We brush long haired cats daily (if they let us!).
- We can also pick up or drop off your cat to the airport if required (charges apply).
CHARGES
Charges include accommodation, food, daily cleaning and care
One cat:
First 21 days $13.00/day
After 21 days $12.00/day
Two cats:
First 21 days $24.00/day
After 21 days $21.00/day
Three cats:
First 21 days $36.00/day
After 21 days $31.50/day
- Check out time is 12pm, Cats collected after this time will be charged for that day.
- We are happy to board and medicate diabetic cats at $21 per day. These cats are hospitalised for closer medical attention.
- Any extra medical care will be charged as per normal rates (however you reserve the right to give permission for treatment)
PLEASE ALSO NOTE:
The Tasman St Vet Centre has a holistic approach to veterinary care. That means we can provide several natural remedies to reduce stress in your cat during its stay. These may include flower essences such as Rescue Remedy, which is a totally natural product.Cats Cottage boasts some of the most natural surroundings you will find in a Wellington Cattery – but we are still in the heart of the city and close to the airport!!
